Summer is a rough time for most all food banks across the Phoenix valley.  Families travel, life’s focus changes and the food banks receive minimal supplies during the summer months.  Christ The Victor Foodbank is no exception.  Located at Christ The Victor Lutheran Church on Arizona Farms Road, the food bank struggles each and every summer to meet the needs of many of the San Tan Valley and Florence families.  Here are some of those needs:

Canned goods, boxed meals, boxed dry cereal, beans and rice

Personal toiletry items: toothpaste, toothbrushes, bar soap, toilet paper, paper towels

Children’s clothing in good condition, new underwear for kids

One very large request is a walk-in refrigerator

Volunteers are needed to pick up donated food items from Fry’s Food Stores and Sprouts Stores.  This requires a 1 to 2 hour time commitment.

If you can volunteer or donate please take the items directly to Christ The Victor Lutheran Church, 6173 Arizona Farms Road, Florence, AZ.  Or, you can bring the food and clothing items to Lifepoint Church Monday through Thursday from 9:00 to 4:00 PM.

Please contact Dee Lorenzen directly to volunteer to pick up the food. Her direct number is 480-987-7658.

Remember what Mister Rogers said a number of years ago about serving others. “Try your best to make goodness attractive. That’s one of the toughest assignments you’ll ever be given.”
