Hunger is a real struggle for many American families. According to Feeding America, one in seven people in Arizona is struggling with hunger, one in four children are struggling, and there about a million people in Arizona alone struggling.
There is a fellowship of churches here in our area who band together in helping as God has called and equipped. Two churches, Amadeo Church and Christ the Victor Lutheran Church have established food banks with the ability to feed many families from Queen Creek to Florence.
Amadeo operates what they have called Re:Store from a storefront in the same plaza in Queen Creek where their church meets. The mission at Re:Store is to connecting our community to its resources by offering food help, utility assistance, and new and gently used clothing and toys to families in need. They are open Mondays from 5:30pm to 6:45pm and as stated in their mission, can meet a variety of needs. For more information you can visit http://amadeochurch.com/ministries/re-store-food-pantry-2
Christ the Victor Lutheran Church has their food bank on their campus on Arizona Farms Road in Florence; Christ the Victor is supported through your giving to LifePoint. Like Re:Store, Christ the Victor’s food bank is able to help not only meet food needs but they have clothing (via Victor’s Closet) and other assistance available. Their food bank and Victor’s Closet are open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 11:00am.
LifePoint has a long-standing benevolence ministry that has helped countless families pay electric bills, water bills, or rent in times of extreme need. Just recently a family in need of food and help with bills were able to get at least a week’s worth of food from Christ the Victor’s food bank and utility help from LifePoint within hours of voicing their needs. If you need help please call or come by the church to speak with one of the pastors.
Partnering with other churches in our area strengthens the kingdom of God in our community. We are called to care for the poor in all ways spiritually, financially, and physically. LifePoint and our partner churches cannot provide these vital ministries without your help, which is truely needed today. If you feel called to give specifically to any of these ministries please visit https://lifepointaz.com/giving or https://bit.ly/2LPzqXX or come into the church to give. Please make a note in the Memo section to let us know how to direct your above-and-beyond giving.
