God is Speaking…Can you Hear Him?
Many people, both believers, and unbelievers of Jesus have stated, “if only God would speak clearly to me, my faith would be unshakable or my belief solidified.” This is a common thought because we long for empirical physical proof that we may place our trust and validation in something more than a feeling or hunch. This, of course, begs the question, “how do I know God is speaking to me?” This is precisely what we will be looking at this week in our Sunday sermon.
In John 5, Jesus heals a paralytic man and is questioned by the religious leaders about the authority to do this on the Sabbath and engage Jesus in a debate on His divinity and the authority of Moses. This Sunday we will be looking specifically at verses 31-47 as we answer the question of how God speaks and why many of us are not hearing Him.
Take the time to read all of John 5 this week and prepare your hearts and minds for the collective reading of the scriptures and engaging what they say.
