All Youth Worship Night

All Youth Worship Night

All Youth Worship Night happened again this year and was a great night of “The Church” youth coming together and praising Jesus. Six church youth groups from our community got together at LifePoint with over 200 youth gathered. They came to raise up the name of Jesus while the message inspired them to Ignite the Fire inside of themselves. To live boldly for their Lord. To go into their homes, community & schools with the word of God. Not to be ashamed of Jesus but to boldly proclaim His name. 2911 Church led the high energy worship which including one song, In God We Trust, from their worship album coming out soon, encouraging them with the fact God is with you. Youth groups that attended the experience with REV were Amadeo, Epic, San Tan Christian Center, Living Water Bible Church & Heart Cry. It was an awesome time of getting to know each other and realizing we, the individual youth group, are not alone in our work for the Kingdom. We saw old friends and made new ones. Excitement has already been started for next year’s Worship Night. The power of the Holy Spirit was present & I am anticipating a surge in all of our youth ministries. We are excited, motivated and empowered to take over San Tan Valley & Queen Creek for Jesus!  We finished the night off with tacos and left full of the Holy Spirit and seasoned beef!

Spring LifeGroups are right around the corner

Spring LifeGroups are right around the corner

Spring LifeGroup season is upon us. This is such a great way to get connected with other people in the church. It is a time to fellowship all while growing spiritually in your walk with Jesus Christ. Being able to do life with other believers is crucial in helping us to stay on a straight path. This Spring we will be offering five different groups including men’s, women’s, marriage, single and parenting, and divorce care. The 10 week series begins on Thursday February 28th from 630-830pm right here at the church.

Future Focused

Future Focused

Vision is an interesting concept. Everyone has a vision of some sort in their life. If you are a parent you have a vision of what you want for your children, if you are a business owner you will have a vision for what your company can become, if you are a social justice advocate you will have a vision for what can make your community better, and if you are a pastor you are given vision for the people of your church/family, neighborhood and community. However, vision is difficult, because it always requires patience and awaiting for future events. In my experience it is even more difficult when it is something that God has put in your heart and given you a passion and desire to see come to fruition. Because His vision is infinitely greater than mine and yet He entrusts us with the responsibility to carry out His will and plans. Crazy! The vision God gave me 5 years ago, when I came out here, was to become a viable healthy church and to do this through service to our community, intentional focus on relationships and discipleship in the church and a deep dive into missions work. In hind-sight, I believe we have done this well, all though not perfect, we have made a difference in the above mentioned areas. Now what? That is what I will be sharing this Sunday as we move forward to reach the unbeliever and the marginalized in our own backyard. God has been breaking my heart for what breaks his more and more, and as I seek that vision it is incredibly exciting to see doors to opportunities just open before us. Please be praying this week for God to share this vision with you and break your heart for the...

Okay Fine, I'll Pray

Okay Fine, I’ll Pray

Why does prayer come in last? We make every effort to tell ourselves that this year will be different. “Today will be different I promise God,” we say. Our intent is that we will spend more time in prayer. Many of us may have been taught that as a kid. Make sure you say your prayers…when you wake up, before dinner and before you go to bed. But life takes over and our well-intentioned thoughts and promises to spend more time in prayer go to the wayside. We can go days, weeks…even months without being with our Father. We justify that with our many reasons. Through love, God will allow a storm to invade our life that will often bring pain and suffering. And then its when we turn to Him in prayer. This Sunday we will see Jonah do the same. We don’t see Jonah go into prayer until God allows a storm to enter into his life. See you on Sunday! Pastor Blake

LifePoint University Spring Kick-Off

LifePoint University Spring Kick-Off

As you may have seen in the announcements over the last few weeks, LifePoint University is kicking off our next semester starting this Sunday! If you don’t know anything about LifePoint University it was implemented a few years ago to serve as our Adult Education program to disciple adults through enrichment and education.  Our classes are led by Pastors, Elders, and Lay Leaders at LifePoint who have a heart and gift to disciple others through teaching. Through LifePoint University it is our hope and prayer that the body of Christ will be strengthened and equipped for ministry.  We offer all types of classes and you do not need to be Christian or even know anything about being a Christian to attend. The classes are for new believers, established believers who want to know more, or believers need a refresher course. The environment is very laid-back and comfortable and our goal is to help individuals successfully learn something new about our faith.  There are classes happening during all three services on Sundays and you are welcomed to stop by this Sunday to see what the classes are all about! To learn more about the classes and to sign-up, click on this link: https://lpu2019.pushpayevents.com/ First Service Classes: Intro to Christianity (S4), Bible Basics (S7), and Theology Basics I (S3) Second Service Classes: Empowered (Women’s class) (S7) and Evangelism (S4) Third Service Classes: Discipleship (S4) and Theology Basics II (S3) If you have any questions please reach out to Pastor Chad at chad@lifepointaz.com or (480) 861-3325

Paladin Sports Outreach 10 Year Anniversary

Paladin Sports Outreach 10 Year Anniversary

One of the local ministries that LifePoint supports is Paladin Sports Outreach. Paladin is a Christian based youth sports organization here in San Tan Valley. Paladin is connecting the youth and their families to LifePoint, they are teaching their athletes a bible verse and character trait each week during the season and pray before each game with the opposing team. Paladin just had their 6th annual Winter Gala! It was a very successful evening with 450 attendees raising money and awareness for a great cause. Paladin just celebrated their 10 years anniversary. God is using Paladin in big ways, from our first year in 2008 with 30 kids at a soccer clinic to over 2500 kids participating in our sports programs in 2018!!! We are so excited to see what the Lord has in store for us in 2019 as we continue to seek his will for this ministry. Thank you LifePoint! Its because of your generosity that 2500 youth and their family’s in our community are hearing and learning about Jesus while playing sports!

Wrestling Faithfully

Wrestling Faithfully

The Old Testament Prophets are a treasure trove of detail, imagery, and revelation about God and his interaction with humanity. Whether you’re reading from Isaiah and his frightening description of an angel (ISA 6:2) or from Daniel about surviving the lion’s den (DAN 6) or reading about Ezekiel raising dry bones to life; the Old Testament is just as amazing and applicable today as it has ever been. Timothy Keller says it would be possible to go to church for many decades and never hear a sermon Habakkuk (don’t worry, we’ll teach you how to say it)! He is unique among the rest of prophets in his conversations with God; Habakkuk reveals to us what it looks like to faithfully wrestle with God and His plans. Too often we think we are in control of things or that we know better than God. We often struggle to hear from God and wonder if it is ok to complain to or disagree with God when we do hear from him. We struggle in the times when we hear from God and go in faith and things do not work out the way we expect, or worse, they end with pain or suffering of some kind. Habakkuk was a man just like any other, his heart broke for Judah and its indiscretion, he couldn’t wrap his mind around what God was doing and how He was moving. For Habakkuk, going meant waiting in patience and joy. Join us this Sunday as we briefly unpack Habakkuk and his interactions with God and their implications in our lives today!

Full Screen Again

Full Screen Again

Psalm 133:1 – Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! LifePoint family, thank you for partnering with us! After a long process of about two years, beginning with both of our projectors failing within the same week, we finally have both of our new projectors installed! These projectors get used by almost every ministry in the church and it is such a blessing to have our screen restored. From all the kids that come to the drive-in movie night to build their own cardboard cars and watch a drive-in movie, to Sunday morning worship, to Rev on Wednesday nights, the ministries of LifePoint thank you!
