In the Bible, Acts 1:8 has always been an inspiration and a set of marching orders for me.
When I was a younger man I was busy climbing the corporate retail ladder and had no plans to serve God on a full-time basis let alone go to the end on the earth! I volunteered at church but never took seriously God’s call on my life. Not until my wife surprised me one day and told me she was going to Haiti on a short-term mission trip. The trip was leaving in November, and as a retail store manager, the timing wasn’t good for me. Well, long story short, I did go with her and I haven’t been the same since.
Some enter into meaningful service to God by serving locally first and then God calls them to the foreign mission field. With me it was foreign first then local. It doesn’t matter what path you take, just listen for God’s call and then answer it. I heard Bishop Wellington Boone from Virginia once say, “God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called.” I believe each and every person who is a Christ Follower, can and should find tangible ways to serve Him.
My vision for you and for LifePoint Church is for everyone that calls LP his or her church home to engage whole heartedly in finding a place to serve God in a meaningful way. Whether it’s in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria or the ends of the Earth, ask God to show you the place He wants you begin your service for Him.
This brochure has been designed with you in mind. Contained herein are numerous organizations and Ministries for you to plug in to serve. Don’t wait for the Leadership at LifePoint to suggest a place for you, lead yourselves to make the call and the contact. You too will never be the same again when you do!
