When We Come Together

In the weeks that have gone by, we have received some excellent messages on marriage; the role that each of us plays as husband and wife. I encourage you to go and listen to them again. In our world today, marriage seems to be an option, or often, a short-term commitment. This coming Sunday, we are talking about what happens when the believers come together & understand what it means to function together as one body (the body of Christ) in the setting of the church or as we meet in home fellowships. Henry Ford once said, & I quote, “Coming together as the “Body of...

A place of their own

Church, we have great news to share. Eleanor and her 7 grandkids have found a place to stay!!! Many of you have been rallying to her cause and following the story of Eleanor who lost her daughter in December and was left raising 7 grandkids. One of the biggest needs was a place of their own. The challenge was to find something that fit their budget and the number of people. They continued to get turned away and placed on waiting lists. Well, this coming Friday she will receive keys to a place that has welcomed her and the kids! Thank you to everyone who helped...

What’s the difference?

LifePoint Family, I wanted to take a moment and talk about the new Alpha groups launching in the Fall and distinguish the difference between an Alpha group and a LifePoint home group or (Life Group). LifePoint has multiple ways to get connected beyond Sunday morning services, in fact, it is our intention that the Sunday morning services are not your main priority when it comes to “church” every week. Rather the Sunday services are meant to be a time of community fellowship and a gathering together to give praise to Jesus. Following is a list of ways that you can get connected at LifePoint: Sunday Morning...

Hello, my church family!

Bonjou, fanmi legliz mwen an! Mwen tounen soti nan nèf semèn an Ayiti. Mwen te sonje yo anpil! (Translation: Hello, my church family! I am back from nine weeks in Haiti. I missed you all so much!) It is nice to be back and see everyone. It is very hard though because Haiti completely stole my heart and became my home in those nine weeks. I got to create many deep and intentional relationships with the community. The people in the community I lived in and the church I attended became my family. I was adopted as a Haitian after the 4th week when multiple people...

Come to the Table

We will close out our series on marriage this week as we look at marriage and what it tells us about our relationship with Christ. Have you ever seen that young couple who are just completely in love and she is so excited that he asked her to marry him and everyone around the young lady says, “Oh goodness, how can you not see how selfish and mean he is to people, how vain he is and sees only his needs?” The young lady replies, “I don’t know about all that, all I know is that I love him.” You see, immature love and mature love...

YouthLife Leaders

YouthLife started up this week and we were greatly blessed with the number of leaders that signed up this year to serve the youth of the community. We now have three groups that meet throughout the week. The Jr. high YouthLife & KidzLife 4,5,6 meet on Wednesday nights. 6:45–8 for the younger ones and 7–9 for Jr. High. High School YouthLife meets Sunday evening 6-8. Having the 4,5,6 group has been a burden on our hearts over the past few years and we are so excited to launch this ministry this year. Now we will have an even greater presence in our neighborhood school. Pray that...

For Your Consideration…

Dear LifePoint Family, Over the course of the last 6 years, I have seen God move in absolutely miraculous ways in this community and this church. I have watched dozens of marriages saved from the brink of divorce, I have seen men and women at the very bottom of their lives, give them to Jesus and rise up and do wonderful things for the work of the Kingdom, we have had the honor of watching God move on the hearts of STV people and have sent hundreds on mission trips and opened their eyes to the plights of others and how they can have such a...

My Buddy

Who do you think of when someone asks you “Who is your best friend?”. For the longest time my thoughts would have gone to certain guys, dudes or bros currently in my life. I picture the scene in a bar where you find yourself in a bad spot, in a wee bit of trouble per say, and outnumbered by a group of guys who want to beat you to a pulp. It always feels a little better if you can look to your right or left and have that someone standing next to you willing to fight. That’s who I picture my best friend to be....

Housing needed

A couple of weeks ago we introduced the story of Eleanor. A grandmother who lost her young daughter and was instantly left with raising 7 grandkids, 3 of which are in diapers. You met her as we brought her on stage to share more of her story and we, as a church, rallied to her cause. The support and help were incredible! One of those needs was finding a place to live. They are currently living with relatives right here in Copper Basin and unfortunately, the situation has become urgent. July 31st is the last day they can be in that house due to circumstances beyond...

Loving our Neighbor

The mission of LifePoint Church is to help people become fully devoted followers of Christ through intentionally serving, giving, & caring for our neighbor. Biblically speaking, neighbor is a big word that encompasses every other human being on earth. Because of this, LifePoint pastors, elders, and staff make a concerted effort to support the global and local mission work that brings the Gospel to our neighbors. One of the ministries supported by LifePoint is Grace Without Borders Ministry (GWBM) which is a thriving prison ministry with reach in several states. This past week, our former intern stopped by the office for some prayer before he preached...
