Come Expecting

When I was living in Massachusetts I attended an Assembly of God church and met a lot of people who are still friends to this day. While there I attended the college group they had as that was the stage of life I was in. On a particular night, I was listening to the young adult’s pastor preaching and he said something that was so profound that I wrote it in the front of my Bible and it reminds me every time I attend a church service or conference or spend time alone with the word to, “Come Prepared.” Come expecting to hear the Lord speak...

Easter, the local Mission Field!

At LifePoint we emphasize the need and our desire to go throughout the world helping others and bringing the gospel. This weekend the part of the world we are focusing on is right here at the church. We will have hundreds of guests flowing through our church for the first time, many of whom do not know Jesus as their savior. We need you to assist in the many areas of volunteer needs. Parking lot attendants, usher/greeters, and Kidzlife are the areas of greatest need. We have four services again this year. Sunrise service at 6:30 will be in need of set up, tear down, usher...

Concrete progress

Some of you may have noticed the work in the back of the church and wondered what in the world is going on!?! We have been working with the Copper Basin HOA on a solution that essentially hides our Conex storage containers (in the back of the parking lot) from view. In the past few weeks, Pastors Mike and Chad and Nathan McBride have been working feverishly to get a concrete pad poured—at a significant discount thanks to Desert Ready Mix of Mesa—to be the new home of the containers. The next phase of the project will involve emptying the containers so they can be moved and set in...

Unity

This last weekend LifePoint brought 125 women up to Lost Canyon Camp in Williams, AZ. What a fabulous weekend! We joined with 5 other churches to make up a grand total of 351 women at this retreat! Many women had fun hiking, taking trips to town, braving the giant swing, soaking in the sunshine and cool breezes and simply getting some wonderful rest, but the most incredible element of this weekend was the unity we saw in this group of women from all different churches was just stunning. We battled together, cried together, sang together, and celebrated together. Unity of the body of Christ is the...

The King Has Come

***URGENT*** Well, the ladies are preparing to head up the mountain and leave many of the LifePoint men all alone. This is the most horrifying weekend of the whole year and if any of you men need some pre-retreat prayer and support I suggest you come tonight to the men’s group at 7pm in the main sanctuary, and if you need to feed your kids over the three day weekend you may bring them to the men’s breakfast at 7am. Finally, I am calling you men out to not stay at home, rather get yourself up throw a hat on your daughters and come to church...

Partnering to help our community

Here at LifePoint we value our partnerships and love it when we are able to team up to meet the needs of the people in our community. One of those partnerships is with Compassion Connect, here locally in San Tan Valley. Just this past week we encountered two families in need due to some challenging circumstances beyond their control. Things like diapers, wipes and immediate necessities like food and household items were needed. The team at Compassion Connect not only were able to help right away but even delivered the items needed. One of the families attended LifePoint for the first time this past Sunday, so...

Your generosity at work

The demographics of our church is such that we were in need of more handicap accessible parking. Many weeks, people in need are forced to park on the back side of the church which is a further distance and not as safe to get across. On top of this, we had received regular grievances about obstruction of sidewalk accessibility caused by cars pulling all the way up to the sidewalk, leaving the front end of the car covering a large portion of the sidewalk. Because of your generous giving, we are able to make improvements to the building and grounds. We have added five extra handicap...

Guilty Until Proven Innocent

The American legal system has a very important principle that just about everyone has heard before, “you are innocent until proven guilty.” It is called the presumption of innocence. The reason this is so important is it protects the individual from unjust convictions or punishment. In John 3 Jesus takes another approach, “guilty, until you receive my innocence.” That’s right, every single person ever born stands guilty before an almighty God. This is due to what we call the sin nature. Everything in this world has a nature, purpose. A giraffe does what is according to its nature, a lion eats a zebra because it is...

Celebrate Together

Celebrations are the most joyful times of the year.  From cake at birthdays to dancing at weddings, nothing is as special as when we celebrate the good things in life.  Easter is the day we celebrate the most miraculous event to ever have occurred, the day that Christ rose again.   It’s not a solemn day that we remember in solitude, but a day to join together in praise and worship and rejoice in what He has done for us.  The grave is empty!  Jesus has given us life and life abundantly!  Because this is a celebration for all people, don’t forget to invite your neighbors, family,...

The Benefits of a Large Mission Team

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to His power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20). When God places a call upon your heart, it is often difficult to determine how one person could be effective alone in their calling or gifting. But as we know, God has a plan and His plan is often much bigger than we could ever imagine. When His plan involves pulling the body of Christ together to do His great work, God’s plan becomes unstoppable. If you are given the opportunity to live out your calling and share...
