Returning to the Philippines once again!

Frank and Emily Ruiz are returning to the Philippines once again! I caught up with Emily this morning and asked her to tell us all more about their journey and what it is that keeps calling them back. Here is her response:

“We are so excited to be heading back for our 4th year to the Philippines! My husband Frank and I will be leading a team from LifePoint in September 2020.

We are so blessed to be working alongside Pastor Paul Barner and his amazing ministry. We will be spending 2 weeks at two of the 7,641 islands that make up the Philippines. Most of our time we will spend working at My Father’s House on Samal Island. At My Father’s House there are 15 kids ranging from age 6-16. These kids were either found on the streets, had parents abandon them, parents who can’t provide and parents who have died leaving them with no one to care for them.

This is a place where they are not only safe and taken care of they are learning about Jesus! They are memorizing scripture, praying, having bible studies on a daily basis. These kids truly love the Lord.
Over the past 3 trips we have built cottages for the kids to live in. We have cleared jungle land for them to be able to plant and grow their vegetation, built chicken coops, pig pens, rabbit cages, put in a system for clean drinking water. Our goal for returning each year to My Father’s House is to continue to give these kids a place that is self-sustaining by completing our projects year after year.

The Lord is doing such amazing things not only at My Father’s House, but also at Barner Christian Academy. BCA is a private Christian school that currently has 511 sponsored students. At BCA the kids are provided transportation to and from school each day, they receive lunch, their uniform and most importantly are surrounded by Christian teachers and staff who are pouring out God’s love on them each and every day. These 511 kids are the poorest kids in the surrounding villages of the school, if it wasn’t for BCA many of the kids would not be attending school at all.

We look forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for our 2020 Missions Trip. We pray the Lord will provide whats needed for all of our team who has a heart to serve the Philippines.”
