Summer Food Service Program
With over 800 students that reside within our Copper Basin neighborhood, LifePoint is happy to say that we have been accepted by the state to be a site for the Summer Food Service Program. This is a free meal program that allows us to provide both breakfast and lunch daily. It is offered to children ages birth to eighteen. Although we are hosting it, we surely couldn’t have gotten here alone.
We came up against many roadblocks that tried to detour us along the way, but with the help of some very dedicated individuals within the Florence Unified School District, Walker Butte K-8, and guidance from our Lord and Savior we were able to accomplish this.
We kicked the program off this past Monday and have already experienced many youth and parents, who have never been inside our walls, walk through the doors. While providing food to the children is the main purpose of this program, we are excited to be apart of God bringing together Church and community during these summer months.
