The 5th annual LifePoint Outdoors ‘Tents N Trailers’ camping trip

The 5th annual LifePoint Outdoors ‘Tents N Trailers’ camping trip is in the books. For the third year in a row, we have visited the wonderful Apache Trout campground at Big Lake in Greer, AZ. We had over 100 people (mostly kids) take part in what was an incredible weekend. While there was plenty of time for rest and relaxation, we stayed busy with several activities including a nature hike along a stream at sheep’s crossing, a cornhole tournament, and a water gunfight.

One of the coolest experiences was the boys and girls separated for a time of mentoring and fellowship. The girls learned about campfire safety and made friendship bracelets. The boys learned how to shoot bow and arrow, throw hatchets and chop wood. Every night there was time for worship and a devotional which led to an amazing time in God’s presence, and an incredible time of fellowship and bonding.

In the end, God showed us Acts 4:32 which says “All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had”. Everyone was sharing food, supplies, blankets, and more without even thinking twice. Everyone was lending a hand with watching kids, doing trash runs, fixing trailers, and leading groups. This weekend was a small, yet beautiful picture of how God intended Christian community to look like and I pray we continue this back here in the valley under the power of the Holy Spirit.
