The Genesis Project: A Special Relationship with LifePoint Church
The Genesis Project is a coalition of churches in the Apache Junction area banded together for the common purpose of aiding the less fortunate. This faith-based organization provides lunches to the hungry and homeless Monday through Friday.
LifePoint Church commits a monthly dollar amount to Genesis for the purchase of food and other needed items. In addition to financial support, LifePoint uses volunteer members to serve a special meal on 6 Saturdays each year. Recently, LifePoint volunteers have not only donated their time to prepare and serve lunch on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month but also used church “elders” to give a spiritual message prior to the meal.
One very special person worth mentioning is Trinity Cole. Trinity, a LifePoint member soon to be the Genesis Project’s next president, volunteers her time 2-5 days per week at the center and, also, serves as a Genesis representative to 2 outside coalitions aimed to eliminate homelessness in the Apache Junction area.
All this at the Genesis Project is only doable with the support of the LifePoint congregation. One of the most precious gifts you can give is your time. Step out of your comfort zone to assist with preparing and serving the meal. No experience is required!
If the Lord moves you to assist with either your time or financial support, please contact Richard Hetland at email@example.com.
