What an amazing week!
Pastor Chad Roche
This has been an excellent month for LifePoint’s youth to genuinely encounter Christ! Pastor Mike and I took 31 teens to conferences and camps which is a great way to get away from the influences of everyday life to hear and experience fellowship and communion.
Mike took his group of 4th and 5th graders to the Tonto Rim Christian Camp in a fun-filled week. Camping and activities were paired with moving quiet times and worship. Several youth dedicated their lives to Christ for the first time. One student in particular, in a conversation with Mike, couldn’t recall when they first made the claim that Jesus was Lord and after saying the sinner’s prayer for the first time was able to cement that night into their memory for life—look for their baptism to come!
My group of 9th-12th graders was just amazing! We spent the week at Biola University in the suburbs of Los Angeles. The youth got to experience college dorm life to the extreme—including loud neighbors into the wee hours of the night. Speaking of “wee” things, our Christ In Youth (CIY) MOVE conference was lead by Jasper and his melodic Irish accent. He’s a great man of God and really connected with the youth. Our youth had an impactful night of confessions leading to peace and accountability after a fantastic and LOUD worship set led by Louie and Brianne Bookout. One of our young adults had such a fantastic time they were offered a scholarship to attend Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri!!! This same young man may even intern with CIY next summer furthering his ministry of mentoring teens. We culminated our week with a sun-filled day at Huntington Beach where a rogue wave nearly took the keys to one of our vans OUT TO SEA!
What an amazing week; thank you to everyone who supported our young people financially and in prayer!
