2024 Mission & Outreach Year-in-Review: A Year of Growth, Service, and Impact

As we close out 2024, we reflect on a year marked by tremendous growth in both our mission and outreach efforts. Together, we have touched lives both locally and globally, and we are excited to look ahead to even greater things in 2025. Let’s take a look back at the year’s highlights, updates, and all that was accomplished with your faithful support.

Mission Updates & Recognition:

2024 brought us amazing mission trips and missionaries to spread the Gospel:

  • Mission Trips in 2024: 6 trips (2 National, 2 Local, 2 Global) with a total of 38 missionaries serving across various locations.
  • Samaritan’s Purse: 2 trips sent 7 missionaries to assist with US Disaster Relief efforts.
  • Arizona Reservation Ministry (ARM): We sent 26 missionaries on 2 trips to serve in the San Carlos Reservation community.
  • Philippines: 1 missionary traveled to support the Barner Christian Academy.
  • Puerto Rico: A team of 4 missionaries made their way to Puerto Rico for outreach and service and LifePoint gained a new missions partner, Dream Center Esperanza.

A highlight of 2024 was our Get the Kids to School Haiti Fundraiser, where we successfully raised $4,200, providing 10 children in Haiti with sponsorship for the year. This effort was a direct result of your generosity and commitment to global outreach.

Our LifePoint Missions Directors and two Mission Leaders attended the Mission Connexion Southwest Conference, growing in crucial skills for mobilizing and leading missionaries within the local church. We also participated in ACCO discussions to strengthen partnerships with neighboring churches in sending out missionaries our mission efforts.

Outreach Updates & Recognition:

2024 has been a year of amazing outreach growth and community involvement. Here are some of the key highlights:

  • LifeCare Community Service: We were able to fulfill 44 service requests in 2024 with the help of 110 volunteers. TOTAL HOURS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE 1,175 hours. September stood out as our highest-serving month, with 30 volunteers fulfilling 6 service requests in one day. LifeCare participated in Compassion Queen Creek for the first time this year. This helped to spread this outreach ministry to those who we seek to serve. LifeCare also partnered with LifePoint Lodge for the 3rd year and YouthLife for the 1st time this year. These efforts help to raise up the next generation of servant leaders and future missionaries.
  • The Big Give 2024: Our Christmas in Belize Fundraiser surpassed its goal, raising over $3,000! The Giving Tree supported 150 tags with the Women of the Word ministry owning a percentage of those needs from the Giving Tree, and Operation Christmas Child saw 150 shoeboxes donated to bless children worldwide. We also had $2,900 donated during our Christmas Eve Offering, blessing both our local and global mission partners with an end of the year giving.
  • Baskets of Blessing: Our second year of this program saw 22 Thanksgiving food baskets delivered to families in need, ensuring a brighter holiday season for many in our community and opportunity to create relationships with those we serve.
  • Community Picnic: This year’s Community Picnic drew an estimated 350 attendees and 80 volunteers, showing a clear growth in community engagement for this event over the past two years.  You can now sign up to serve at this year’s picnic in the LifePoint app.
  • Compassion Connect QC Outreach Event: A special thank you to Pastor Mike for training Angela, who will be stepping into the leadership role for this event in 2025. We had 20 volunteers that LifePoint led with 13 of them from LifePoint. Registration is now open to serve at this years Compassion QC in the LifePoint app.
  • Movie on the Lawn: Around 200 kids and about 600 people in all attended this community outreach event. It took over 70 volunteers to make this event a success. Thank you to Pastor Mike for leading these outreach efforts each year.
  • VBS: Almost 200 kids attended this year. Collected 250 items for Operation Christmas Child, this year’s mission focus. About 20 young souls came to know Jesus as their Savior and many had a great connection with their heavenly Father through the week. To serve all these kids we had over 75 volunteers. Giving thanks again to Pastor Mike for his continual efforts in reaching the youth of the community through these efforts.
  • Blood Drives: We hosted two successful community blood drives with the help of our mission partner Healing Hands Medical Clinic leading the charge. A total of 59 products were collected, and we’re proud to report that 171 lives were saved as a result of these efforts. Additionally, we had 6 first-time donors who took a step of faith to give the gift of life.
  • YouthLife returned this year to serve Youth Haven, helping us serve and strengthen this vital local partner. This year they partnered with LifeCare to bridge the gap between teen and adult ministries.
  • Paladin Team 710: Dan Terlizzi stepped into the role of LP Outreach Leader for Team710, and we held 3 outreach days with 27 volunteers who made a significant impact in our community on the sports field.
  • Compassion Youth Mentoring: We were thrilled to see Cheryl Silfies step into the LP Liaison role for Compassion Youth Mentoring. Under her leadership, LP will be providing meals for the youth 1-2 times a month to foster relationships and support their ministry.

Looking Ahead:
