2025 Belize Mission Recap
Our mission team has returned from Belize and what an amazing experience we had! Of course, the mission trip was not without its challenges as our team battled illness, physical limitations, sick family members, floods, and financial stressors. But God was so good, and He carried us through these challenges, always provided, and increased our faith and dependence on Him.
The first part of our trip was the main mission, putting on a marriage retreat for the Belizean couples. Marriage is very counter cultural in Belize, especially one founded on biblical principles. We partner with Pastor Kenny in Belize, and he chooses the couples to attend the retreat from his two churches that he leads. The couples attending these retreats have chosen to put Christ in the center of their marriages and turn from their culture. This retreat allowed us to encourage these couples and pour into their relationships. In our small group time, we were able to build deep connections and pray over them. We laughed together, we cried together and most importantly, we drew close to the Lord together! The biggest blessing was meeting 3 young men, who attend Pastor Kenny’s church, express with excitement their desire and plans to get married, and join us on the next retreat. This is true cultural change from where this mission was when we began in 2018. Pastor Kenny shared with our team on this trip, that when he chose to marry his wife, their marriage was the first marriage in 2 generations of the village.
The second part of our trip was spent in the village of Gales Point Manatee. A small, remote, indigenous village where we serve on each trip and where one of Pastor Kenny’s churches are located. We cleaned and organized the church, worked on putting up new fencing for the local community farm to keep out some pesky pigs, and put on a prayer and worship night that ended with a massive clothing drive. We were so touched to hear so many voices praising the Lord at the top of their lungs. The people came up for prayer in droves. They were immensely grateful for all of the clothing and shoes. It was truly a blessing to bless others.
We may have had some hard travel days, hot, humid weather, and biting bugs to deal with, but it was truly such an amazing time of serving and loving like Jesus that those things didn’t matter. We are so grateful for all our financial support and to LifePoint, our church body, for all your prayers. It takes a team at home to be able to send a team to serve overseas. The work in Belize is still just beginning and we encourage you to pray about joining us next time!
