Child Dedication at LifePoint Church

Children are a gift from God. Psalm 127:3 proclaims that "Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him." We are often overwhelmed by this truth when our children are first born. As believers we are called to recognize that children belong first and foremost to God and he entrusts us with the stewardship of their spiritual lives to teach them about him.

A child’s spiritual instruction is first, and foremost, the duty of their Father and Mother! It is not the duty of the government or even the church. The church is, however, able to provide vital training for parents and reinforce their Godly values with their children.

The Bible instructs us to raise our children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. (Eph 6:4) What does it mean to raise your child this way? At LifePoint we can help you in this process by supporting you with committed membership, training on how to raise your child in the discipline and instruction of the Lord and group support by the body of Christ.

Child dedication: After completing the first two items you may present your child at the semi-annual meeting of all covenant members .Here you will present your child before the Lord and seek his guidance as you raise your child to love and obey God and walk in his peace and freedom. Pastors and the congregation will pray God’s blessing over you and your household at this time.
